Meadowbank Tafe

Maintenance of Block H MSB and upgrade of 2 x DBs in Block D, 1 x DB in Block E & 2  x DBs in Block F.

Meadowbank TAFE is one of the largest educational institutions in Sydney. It is also home to one of only two Cisco Academy Training Centres in the Australasia Pacific region. The institute offers an extensive range of study areas from courses like Finance and Network Security to courses like Beauty Therapy and Carpentry. Meadowbank TAFE campus also offers other services such as Counselling and Career Development, Childcare, Learner Support, Disabilities Support, Library, Multicultural Education Services, Gamarada Aboriginal Eduction and Training Unit and many more.

As student’s enrollment increases over the years, the campus has also expanded to cater for the demand and will continue to do so. Expansion works include adding more class rooms, more machines for workshops etc. With all these extra facilities, the existing switchboards require upgrade and maintenance.

Public Works NSW is overseeing the project related to the status of switchboards at Meadowbank TAFE.  The project includes redistributing the load of existing switchboards, providing new switchboards, modifying existing switchboards, upgrading and replacing existing circuit breakers etc.

Southern Cross Switchboards  was very fortunate to be given an opportunity to be part of this project. Our scope of work included the maintenance of the Main Switchboard in Block H, modifying Distribution Boards in Block D, Block E and Block F and providing new Distribution Boards as add on to existing Distribution Boards. We also did some custom made doors to replace the old sliding covers which slide from the ceiling to the ground.

In a nutshell, it was a very good project to work on and working alongside Public Works NSW has been marvelous as they are very understanding and cooperative.
