Set in 25 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens with views to the Blue Mountains, Ryde Campus is an internationally renowned specialist training centre for hospitality, tourism, horticulture and environmental management. It is the largest hospitality training centre in the Asia-Pacific region and one of the largest horticulture training centres in the world.

In May 2015, Ryde TAFE required upgrade to their Main Switchboard in the Administration Building. This opportunity came from the NSW Public Works. Based on previous collaboration with the NSW Public Works on Meadowbank TAFE, Southern Cross Switchboards was once again fortunate to be offered the opportunity to work on this project.

The scope of works included supply and installation of a Service Protection Device for the existing Main Switchboard, supply and installation of a new 630A Distribution Board and a 630A breaker in the Main Switchboard as the supply for the new distribution board. The works also included organizing the power shut down with the supply authority, upgrade of the analogue meters to digital meters and also install Perspex covers over existing busduct.

We successfully coordinated works to be completed over 2 consecutive working days with 2 separate shutdowns.
